Replacing your old LiteTouch Lighting System
UPGRADING YOUR SYSTEM
Upgrading from a LiteTouch lighting system represents a significant step towards modernizing and enhancing your home's lighting control. As this system is no longer supported, there are a few replacement solutions to consider that meet the electrical code and are UL approved.
When choosing a replacement system, systems such as Lutron, Savant, Control4, or Vantage should first be considered. Many times, this decision is based off the wiring that is already installed in the home.
Other factors to consider typically involve to the overall aesthetic options each system has to offer - keypad styles, color selections, finish options, etc.
STEP 1 - ASSESSMENT
Before furthering the LiteTouch replacement journey, we first need to take stock of your existing system. For a smooth transition, it’s important to understand the total number of keypads, dimmers, and control panels. Depending on the new system, you may need to modify or replace some wiring.
STEP 2 - CHOOSING A SYSTEM
When choosing a system, a couple of factors typically come into play. Do you have en existing home automation system? What type of wiring exists at each of the keypads? How are your LiteTouch modules being fed from the electrical breakers?
Lutron lighting control systems such as HomeWorks and QSX are considered to be the gold standard.
STEP 3 - INSTALLATION
This may include smart switches, dimmers, keypads, central control units, and any additional devices based on the features of the replacement system. Many companies will subcontract a 3rd party electrician to swap all of the high voltage devices.
As a Lutron and original LiteTouch repair dealer with 20+ years of experience in Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater, we have a finite understanding of what it takes to lay out a complete replacement & upgrade solution from start to finish.
STEP 4 - PROGRAM AND CONFIGURE
